The Director, Student Life will provide effective vision, leadership, management, administration, and coordination of a broad-based student development and support portfolio.  The Director shall provide strategic leadership that recognizes and promotes the positive role of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities within a rigorous academic environment in accordance with St. Francis Xavier University’s strategic statement. The start date for this position will be June 29, 2015.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Extensive experience in student leadership development including working with diverse communities
An understanding of youth culture and relevant issues facing young adults
Five to seven years of experience in progressive senior student affairs administration with demonstrated experience in managing professional and student staff
Master Degree in a related field
Demonstrated experience in working with a broad spectrum of stakeholders, preferably within a University environment
Excellent resource management and budgeting skills
Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills
Demonstrated experience in design and delivery of workshops, programs, and training sessions; and demonstrated success in achieving excellence through measurable results
