Job Description: Permanent Part-Time Shop Assistant

The Position

We are currently hiring a Permanent Part-time Sales Assistant. This person will be responsible for operating the shop when the owner is not present and able to work in tandem when she is and interested to manage operational and sale support tasks.

Has strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and follow-through skills
Is detail oriented, flexible and interested in taking on the tasks that present themselves in an entrepreneurial setting
Having some previous Customer Service, Sales Support, Sales, or Merchandising Skills would be an asset

Duties

Achieve sales goals through outstanding customer service
Oversee merchandise and manage day-to-day store operations effectively
Learn and maintain excellent product knowledge
Perform opening and closing duties, such as re-stocking, tidying and cleaning
Manage transactions and some bookkeeping and inventory management

Please note that the ideal applicant must be available to work 12-36 hours/week, including some evenings & weekends; navigate steep stairs, do some physical work and lift 25 lbs. Hourly rate commensurate with experience and position.
