Director of Sales – Vital Logistics Ltd – Vancouver, BC

Summary

Vital Logistics Ltd. is a freight forwarding company about to embark on our next phase in business growth. We are looking for strategic hires willing to challenge themselves and others to achieve results. If you are a financially motivated leader, ready to grow and empower a sales team, and have experience in the transportation and logistics industry, we would like to talk to you about joining our team as Director of Sales.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with the executive team to understand and influence company vision
Develop a plan and budget to achieve double-digit-growth sales targets in accordance with vision
Independently execute on sales plan from Toronto, maintaining daily communication with executive team in Vancouver
Ensure strategic and best use of leading sales management tools, and support administrative resources
Build a team of sales 3-12 sales representatives, including hiring, training and management

Assist sales representatives in

Developing their understanding of the transportation and logistics industry;
Identifying new business opportunities through research, networks and cold calling;
Communicating Vital Logistics’ value proposition;
Successfully establishing new customer accounts;
Negotiating sales prices and sales discounts with customer’s logistics managers, CEO’s and other key customer decision makers;
Working with Vital Logistics’ internal resources to ensure sales processes are followed;
Maintaining strong customer relationships;
Tracking sales tracking activities in leading sales management tools; and
Assessing customer needs and recommending services based on supply chain evaluation.
Communicate performance against plan using KPI’s, on a timely basis, to executive team
Be willing to travel for work

(Specifically 8+ years of sales experience, including

3+ years of management experience and either
2+ years with Fedex, Purolator or another major freight carrier
4+ years of experience in the international air and sea freight forwarding industry)
