Key Responsibilities
Provides administrative support to the Program Representative by gathering data, presenting information and preparing a follow-up report about seasonal facilities.
Coordinates and attends Water Safety Training Partner meetings throughout the province as identified by the Program Representative.
Identifies those Training Partners who were not current within the Red Cross database and ensures fulfillment of agreement and accuracy of information.
Re-establishes a connection with seasonal facilities and the Canadian Red Cross by coordinating and distributing promotional materials as well as traveling to Training Partners for face to face visits.
Responds to questions/requests related to the program and providing general customer service support to British Columbia Training Partners.
This position is conditional on funding through Service Canada and the following criteria established by
Service Canada, which includes:
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification, with at least two (2) years’ experience, and strong knowledge of the Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Program.
Abilities and Skills:
Strong leadership skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Proficiency in MS Office Suite
Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
Valid BC Class 5 drivers license, must have access to a vehicle and be 18 years of age or older
Assets:
Water Safety Instructor Trainer certification is preferred
Experience in volunteer management and program planning
Fluency in a second language
Working Conditions
This position will require travel throughout the province.
Flexible schedule and occasional weekend and evening work maybe required.
This position requires a successful Canadian criminal record check, a vulnerable sector check and a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
