Lifeguard/Instructor
The City of Nanaimo is seeking two permanent part-time Lifeguard/Instructors. The incumbents will carry out lifeguarding/instructional duties and will be responsible for the supervision and control of activities, safety standards, and cleanliness of aquatic facilities.
Applicants will have completed grade 10, and have the following qualifications:
Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
C.P.R. “C” Certification
National Lifeguard Certification (Pool Option)
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
This is a unionized position, $18.22 – $19.18 per hour (Jan 2015 Rate). Hours of work will be 0-40 hours per week, depending on workload. Incumbents will be expected to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week. Extensive weekend and evening work may be required in addition to workday shifts.
