Research and Development Power & Control System Engineer – Burlington – Bibico Electric Inc

As a member of the R&D team, you will be challenged with designing and developing new solutions for the following:

Electrical Power Systems Automation Control

Emergency Power Supply, and others associated Control Process in the Electrical Power Industry.

Electrical Power Systems Selective Coordination & Arc Flash Mitigation 24/7 without human interference.

Responsibilities:
Research, design, and implementation of new products in the field of Automation Process for the Electrical Industry.
Team leader for the design and implementation of the new Electric Power SCADA System.
Programming SCADA Systems, communication protocol drivers.
Design and implementation of Automation Process Control; selection of instrumentation equipment and systems configuration.
PLC + HMI design and programming; working with the development team in the design, programming, documentation, and testing of PLC programs and HMI of different manufacturers.
Commissioning of the field bus networks, SCADA systems, PLC programs and HMI components; setup and configuration of the automation equipment and field devices.
Support of the equipment and programs, post-installation.
Maintenance and update of documentation for the above systems (diagrams, panel drawings, and manuals).
Site Coordination: coordinate and assist in site activities including contractor installations.
Installation of automation and safety equipment, including testing, start-up, and commissioning of equipment.
Creation of cost estimates for proposed solutions.
Coordination with manufacturers, third-party vendors, and integrators.
Provide timely resolution and troubleshooting of technical issues related to HMI and automated control network.
Training and development of entry level team members
Electrical Power Systems Selective Coordination & Arc Flash Mitigation 24/7 without human interference.

Skills Required:
MS Office, MS Project.
Structured, object-oriented design and programming techniques.
C/C++ programming.
Data structures
Device design and embedded real-time applications.
TCP/IP, Ethernet, Hardware driver.
PLC and HMI Programming. Previous experience in the design and implementation of SCADAs Systems.
Matlab/Power System Toolbox.
Windows and Linux programming.

Skills Desirable:
Minimum ten (10) years of relevant experience in Automation Process Control Systems and Electrical Power Systems.
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in R&D.
High level of knowledge and experience with SCADA, PLC and HMI programming (Rockwell Automation, SIEMENS, OMRON, Automation Direct, etc).
Knowledge and demonstrated previous use of Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers and I/Os in an industrial setting.
Electrical Engineering experience and degree with practical experience wiring and troubleshooting electrical systems.
Experience working with customers and managing contractors.
Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of complex automated systems.
Ability to effectively manage project timelines and multiple tasks.
Be result-oriented, self-motivated, and an active team player .
Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent academic background.
Teaching experience in job environment and academic environment.

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree / M.Sc. / Ph.D. in Automation Control or Electrical Engineering
Relevant experience in Automation Control R&D
Publication of Scientific results (academic journals/peer-reviewed publications)
Salary: $38/ hourly
