Join the District of West Kelowna as a Planner I. The incumbent will accept, review and assess land use applications, assist in the preparation of a wide variety of planning projects and development applications and coordinate approvals with other departments and government agencies. This position will also assemble analyze and interpret statistical, demographic, environmental, and other data for planning purposes. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer service by responding to public/counter inquiries.

A minimum of 2 years experience in a related position and extensive knowledge of local land use policies and regulations as well as provincial and federal legislation related to planning is required. Completion of a 2 year diploma in Planning Technology is a requirement along with basic graphic and mapping skills.

This full-time temporary 1 year position, 35 hours per week, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, offers an hourly rate of $32.17, along with an attractive benefit package and municipal pension plan.
