Parks Planner – City of Coquitlam – Coquitlam, BC

A key leader in the development of city’s park system, you will be responsible for parks, trails, and natural area planning and policy development. You will act as the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services department representative on a variety of strategic parks-related city initiatives involving geographic distribution, park programming, accessibility, environmental protection, and sustainable development of park assets.

Your thorough knowledge of parks, recreation, and culture needs and all aspects of parks planning are ideally based on a degree in Landscape Architecture or similar discipline such as land-use planning or public policy. You have considerable related experience and have eligibility in the BC Society of Landscape Architects and/or eligibility for full membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners.

You’ve worked in professional teams under tight deadlines and are able to skillfully navigate the land-use planning process. Writing complex policy reports and delivering public presentations comes easily to you. You require minimal supervision, possess a positive can-do attitude and are able to tackle various parks planning challenges with competency and flair.
