The Stan Cassidy Foundation and the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation were founded in the late 1950s by Canadian businessman, engineer and healthcare visionary Stan Cassidy, a member of the Order of Canada. Stan fervently believed that people with disabilities could be contributing members of society and economy; that technology has a role to play in disease and injury treatment, and that grassroots medical fundraising could propel quality of care forward.
Today, the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation is a North American leader in neurological rehabilitation, serving patients in both official languages from across the Maritimes, as New Brunswick’s tertiary-level centre. The Stan Cassidy Foundation provides funds and resources to the centre, its patients and staff. Our focus is on patient care through our direct-to-patient community grants, such as our Bikes ’n’ Trikes for Kids ’n’ Tykes program, our grants to the centre’s staff for research and education, and our equipment grants to enhance the facility. Both organizations work to realize Stan’s original vision of a world with independence and dignity for all.
