Customer Advisor – Thinkwell Shift – Halifax, Nova Scotia

Thinkwell Shift (“Shift”) is a resource conservation company that specializes in behaviour change. We create strategies that encourage people to make lasting changes in their daily lives to conserve resources such as water, energy and waste. In order to facilitate behaviour change, we connect with customers using various tactics to guide their path. Shift is looking for customer service orientated individuals who are looking for a challenge, and the possibility to grow with the company.

Position

This position is comprised of many elements, including:

interacting with customers on the phone and in person on a daily basis;
guiding the customers path to help them reduce their resource use in a manner that’s right for them;
installing efficient products in customers’ homes, including light bulbs, shower heads, faucet aerators, and tank and pipe wrap;
follow established health and safety protocol;
collect and record information; and,
file electronic reports daily.

Shift is looking for individuals for both full and part time work in Halifax, with hours that may range from 7am-8pm M-F, and 9am-5pm on Saturdays. The contracts are for 1 year, from approximately January 4 – December 23, 2016. Paid training begins at the beginning of January.

Hourly Rate: $15-17/hr (depending on experience) + car and phone allowances

Personal Qualities

We’re looking for someone with as many of the following qualities as possible:

strong customer service background with an understanding of communications, environmental education and/or behaviour change;
personable, positive and professional demeanor;
able to follow protocol, but has ability to make responsible changes as needed
experience working independently;
passionate about the environment;
comfortable with changing roles, and able to innovate or find improvements;
attentive to detail;
interested in growing with a new company;
very comfortable with standard office technology including Microsoft Office (Word/Excel) and access to a smartphone and the internet;
has a car (required for each shift), and a clean driving record;
physically fit (will be required to be one your feet most of the day; able to carry boxes up to 30lbs; go up and down ladders and stairs all day);
handy, or comfortable with minor home repairs (changing light bulbs, changing showerheads, etc) – experience not required, training provided.
Clean background check is mandatory (Provided by Shift).
