Job Summary
Performs routine and complex laboratory testing in a Core Laboratory setting including Transfusion Medicine. Performs phlebotomy when required; runs Quality Control following established procedures and keeps appropriate documentation. Performs routine preventative maintenance procedures on various laboratory instruments and keeps appropriate documentation. The candidate promotes Patient Safety initiatives through strict application of Eastern Health Policies. The candidate must have experience working with Meditech.

Occasionally lifts and/or unload objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
Regularly stands or sits for extended periods, requiring constant repetitive movement of upper extremities and walking to deliver reports/results.
Visual and auditory concentration are constant and eye/hand coordination and higher than normal levels of attentiveness are required.
Job Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Graduation from an accredited program with a diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
Registration as a General R.T.
Proof of current registration from the NL Council of Health Professionals is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance.
