Our team is currently looking to hire a Wax Production Technician for our wax seal manufacturing company in Langford, BC.
This position is a physical and highly detailed role which involves: a) the production of all wax types; b) management of inventory; c) mixing of hot melted wax; and d) the dexterity required to accurately pour product. This role will require standing for extended periods of time and being able to routinely lift up to 50lbs.
Key duties/responsibilities:
Weigh, melt, mix, and produce all wax from raw material state to finished product.
Accurately follow recipes consistently and efficiently.
Operate wax production equipment in accordance with current operating practices.
Use sharp tools, heat sources, and melted wax safely and securely; utilizing safety equipment when required.
Manage inventory of raw materials and completed wax: execute production as needed.
Create production and inventory schedules to maintain stock levels.
Collaborate with production and sales department to fill orders according to required timelines.
Clean production equipment and work areas.
Lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
Support new product development from inception to production.
Lead the automation, equipment procurement and customization to increase production volumes.
Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Perform other production duties as assigned by management.
The Successful Candidate will have:
Technical degree or equivalent
Minimum 1 year experience with operating pneumatic presses, or role as a mixologist, or any role where mixing by recipe was required in a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience in developing technical documentation in an information technology environment or IT technical field is preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience with Graphic CNC engraving is preferred.
Knowledge of graphic design and vector drawing is required.
Ability to distinguish minute changes in colour and/or product behaviour.
Excellent communication, problem solving, flexibility, and attention to detail are mandatory.
Prior experience working in an independent role.
Experience working with food, wax, or handcrafted products is an asset.
