Tool Room Manager – Waterford Group – Windsor, ON

Overall Responsibilities:

Supervision of Tool room in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
Responsible for managing tool & die repair department (6-7 people)
Manage day to day tooling operations.
Initiate problem solving and conduct root cause analysis.
Implement Process & Tooling projects driven through new product development, product design changes and or process improvements.
Gives direction on process types.
Estimates costs for design and build
Reviews/Revises quotations
Defines project in regards to timing and performance costs
Generates purchase requisitions for approval.
Reviews engineering changes.
Supports and gives direction to toolmakers in any aspect of tool building.

Qualifications:  

Minimum of 5 years stamping and or tool and die experience required
Experience in all areas of metal stamping including progressive, manual, and transfer dies
Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills
Strong problem solving and stamping die troubleshooting skills are required
Ability to read and interpret both product and equipment designs and drawings.
Ability to facilitate the introduction of new processes, interface with equipment, tooling, and material suppliers
Experience with metal stamping presses and welding equipment
