Tasks and responsibilities:
The Project Management Intern will assist the Project Producer and the Project Team to plan, market and execute components of the Lab. Tasks can include:
Marketing and fundraising:
Marketing support to attract lab participants, partners and sponsors
Research and sector mapping for the circular textiles economy
Grant identification and writing
Event planning:
Supporting planning of online and in-person engagement events
Communications:
Developing content for social media
Drafting press releases
Supporting the development of a communications strategy for this content
Eligibility
This position is funded by a Canada Summer Jobs grant. To be eligible, the individual must:
(a) be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
(b) be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
(c) be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong communications skills (written and oral)
Proactive and outgoing personality
Fundraising and marketing experience
Research experience
Computer proficiency including use of google suite and social media platforms
Interest in zero waste and other sustainability topics
Outreach and or engagement experience
Graphic design skills are an asset.
Hours and Wage
Eight weeks, 30 hours /week at $15/hour, starting July 6, 2020.
