Technical Sales Representative – A1 Machine & Welding (1986) Ltd – Vernon , BC

A1 Machines & Welding (1986) Ltd. located in Vernon, BC is looking for a technical sales representative.  This new role will support the relationship between us and our new manufacturing partner of bagging systems and bulk material handling systems.

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for securing profitable sales revenue for the company by establishing business relationships with potential new customers and existing customers. This position will require frequent liaison and communication with our overseas manufacturing partner.  Willingness to travel overseas frequently is a requirement of this position.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

At least five years of business to business sales relating to capital equipment.
At least 3 years experience with sales of industrial material handling systems such as conveyors, bagging systems, powder and solid batching and mixing.
Solid technical knowledge of and experience with material handling and transfer equipment.  Position requires ability to understand technical information and translate from English to Mandarin and vise versa, acting as a bridge between our customers and our manufacturing partner.
Working professional fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese due to job requirements.
Willingness to frequently travel overseas.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

Four-year college degree or at least 2 years Marketing/business/technical training.

JOB DUTIES:

Investigate and identify potential customers for the services of the company.
Engage multiple parties/roles in the sales and consultation process such as management, engineers and sales staff
Determine what is within our manufacturing capabilities
Conduct phone, in person consultations with potential clients
Drafting sales contracts and translation of contracts and terms
Negotiate terms of sale or contract, both with our potential clients and our overseas manufacturing partner to determine acceptable terms of sale
Act as initiator for new product development and participate in the development process.
Overseas travel to our manufacturing partner as required.
Facilitate communication between various stakeholders in both North America and overseas, sometimes outside of work hours.
Coordinate fulfillment of the terms of sale or contract.
Provide for necessary communication and follow-up with the customer.
Negotiate necessary changes to terms of sale or contract.
Maintain knowledge of competitors’ products, pricing, and tactics.
