Responsibilities Include:
Enhance Superior Finishes’ reputation as a leader in coatings technology by presenting and assisting marketing in the promotion of novel technology developments and current offerings;
Maintain professional development and industry knowledge to ensure that development projects reflect best current technical practices through attendance at Coatings Industry trade shows, consultations with Suppliers, etc.;
Provide technical advice / recommendation to Technical Sales Reps including development of tools and / or programs to improve product selection process and sales efficiencies;
Work with Technical Sales Reps and lab staff to manage and resolve customer complaints of a technical nature;
Oversee the development of formulation of new products as required by SFI customers;
Organize, direct and review the activities of all lab, R&D, and Quality Control functions;
Technical report writing and detailed computerized record keeping of R & D activities to comply with requirements of SR&ED claim filing;
Oversee and ensure proper documentation and representation of product information for distribution (MSDS, Product Data Sheets, and any other technical marketing information;
Recruit and provide ongoing support, guidance, direction, and training of formulating Chemists;
Develop and implement any necessary policies and standards relating to R & D activities; product development; quality control & quality assurance, etc.
Experience / Education Requirements:
5 years experience with and Managing Industrial Coatings Research and Development Department;
Degree in Chemistry preferably Master Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering;
Prior on hands experience with Moisture Cure Zinc Primers; 2K Urethanes and polyaspartics;
Strong knowledge of appropriate raw material selections to improve properties or characteristics of coatings;
Familiar with ASTM Test Methods
This is a full time position offering a salary of $85,000 – $120,000 depending upon qualifications and experience. Benefits include Group Health, Dental, Vision, Long and Short Term Disability and Life Insurance.
