Summer Camp Leader – Vancouver Botanical Gardens Association – Vancouver, BC

Responsibilities
Plan and deliver full-day, nature-themed day camps to children ages 5 to 10 years old
Follow VBGA and COVID-19 protocol to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all campers and staff
Provide campers with an educational, fun and meaningful experience
Supervise a team of volunteers and junior counselors
Communicate effectively with parents

Qualifications and experience
Some post-secondary education and/or a strong background in ecology, biology, education or a related field
Experience leading groups of school aged children in a camp setting
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and respectfully as part of a team
Dedication to environmental awareness and sustainable living
Current certification in standard first aid AND a clear criminal record check obtained prior to the start date

Availability & Eligibility
Required full-time, Monday to Friday from June 1 – August 25, 2020
This position is a funded position. To be eligible you must be:
Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have refugee protection status
Legally entitled to work in Canada
Wage

$17.00 per hour (40 hrs per week)
