General Accountability
The Store Operations Manager is responsible for enhancing the operational and administrative excellence of Paint Shop’s Corporate and Franchise stores. The incumbent is responsible for identifying and implementing operating and administrative policies, processes and procedures that increase sales, profitability and operational efficiencies for Paint Shop’s Corporate and Franchise locations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic and Business Planning (25%)
Work with the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing to define, prioritize and implement strategic initiatives in support of Paint Shop’s business plan.
Develop the Paint Shop Franchisee’s business plan i.e. objectives, targets, key performance indicators (KPI), and initiatives that are aligned with the Paint Shop’s strategy & business plan.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the internal processes within daily store operations.
Communicate regularly with the franchise and corporate store network, provide direction, influence results and drive a greater understanding of store needs and deliverables.
Oversee the development and implementation of franchisee staff training initiatives to increase employee learning, growth and engagement.
Operations and Administration (50%)
Develop, review and implement operational and administrative policies, processes and procedures that support key initiatives while balancing, profitability, customer/employee satisfaction, and productivity
Continually review processes, procedures and standards to ensure improved operational and administrative efficiency
Correct operational deficiencies identified in store visits and through audit reports
Ensure the timely execution of merchandising initiatives at Franchise locations, including core listings, de-listings, promotional programs and general category management.
Ensure the execution of marketing programs at Franchise locations, including interior and exterior signage and consumer events.
Review customer service satisfaction results with franchise and corporate locations with a focus on improving the overall customer experience.
Communication with Other Departments (20%)
Finance on billing, payment and budget issues from franchise and corporate stores.
Warehouse on shipping and logistical issues and opportunities.
Merchandising on execution of store level category initiatives and inventory management and service levels.
Marketing on execution of store level marketing initiatives including retail image and branding.
Health and Safety (5%)
Ensure that health and safety issues are identified during store visits.
Develop, review and implement processes and procedures that support a healthy and safe workplace.
Specific Accountabilities
Identifies objectives, targets, key performance indicators (KPI) and initiatives through the development of the franchisees business plan and ensures alignment with the corporate strategy & business plan.
Develops, reviews and implements operational and administrative policies, processes and procedures that support key initiatives while balancing, profitability, customer/employee satisfaction, and productivity
Promotes a healthy, safe and respectful workplace culture by adhering to OH&S management practices that limit risk.
Ensures communication of cross-functional initiatives by developing and maintaining effective working relationships within Paint Shop departments, franchises and vendors.

Special Skills, Knowledge, and Education Required
Graduation from a post-secondary institution with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration
Ten (10) years of experience in a retail management position (packaged goods industry)
Strong leadership, strategic planning, analytical, time management and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and experience in managing, planning, policy and process development, documentation and best practices in retail management.
Comprehensive knowledge of, and familiarity with the paint, floor, window treatment industry
General working knowledge of legislature and regulations affecting retail operations such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Shops Closing Act
