Responsibilities:
The shift manager is responsible for the efficient management of Mill Operations (Woodroom, Effluent, Clay/Kraft, TMP, PM2 and Warehouse) on a 12-hour shift basis. This role involves interfacing with Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, Shipping, Scheduling and other support groups as well as networking with suppliers, consultants and others as required. The Manager must ensure activities are optimized for efficiency, quality, cost and that safety and environmental requirements are being met at all times. Leadership and coaching in the area of employee development. Provide input into budget and capital planning. Lead role participant on the Mill Emergency Response Team.
The Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have postsecondary education and progressive experience in a manufacturing or related industrial unionized environment with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a supervisory role. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with experience in the paper industry.
