Key Responsibilities:
Donor/Prospect Portfolio
Develops, implements and evaluates a strategy to cultivate and solicit individual planned gift prospects.
Demonstrates a high level of personal contact with planned gift prospects and donors
Creates and carries out individual prospect/donor plans and associated strategies
Development and management of Planned Giving Staff
Recruits and trains new Planned Giving staff as part of a collaborative, high-performance team
Provides guidance, coaching and oversight in areas of donor/prospect strategy, planned gift solicitations, and estate administration
Establishes goals, objectives, and metrics for the purpose of evaluating individual performance
Management of PG Direct Marketing Lead Generation
In conjunction with the Director, Planned Giving and the Director, Direct Marketing, develops a strategy for PG lead generation by mail, email and telemarketing.
Creates an annual implementation plan for the lead generation strategy, including desired outcomes and metrics.
Planning, Tracking and Evaluation
Participates in the development of national Planned Giving strategies and activities.
Contributes to the development of provincial Planned Giving budgets.
Develops annual business plans in collaboration with Planned Giving leadership to meet key performance indicators for Planned Giving activity in Ontario
Integrates volunteer resources within the job’s scope of responsibilities.
Follows all policies and procedures as required to maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
Adheres to implemented strategies to support social justice and diversity, in accordance with Society policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications for this position are a University Degree from a recognized Canadian institution, with specialized experience and professional knowledge of the technical aspect of planned gifts and estate administration, and a minimum of 7 years of job related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Abilities and Skills
Strong communication (written and oral), interpersonal and organizational skills
Proven track record of delivering exceptional fundraising results and managing high performance teams
Planning, project management, administrative leadership, human resources and financial management
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and experience with fundraising software, preferably Blackbaud Raisers Edge and/or CRM.
Assets to the Role
Completion of the CAGP Gift Planning course is preferred.
CFRE, ACFRE or FAHP certification is an asset.
Working Conditions
Domestic travel is a regular part of the job.
Current driver’s license, use of a car, and a satisfactory driver’s abstract is required.
Occasionally required to work non-traditional hours to meet travel and other commitments and during times of a disaster response and/or appeal.
