Position Description
As Retail Store Manager for the Dartmouth location you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the Dartmouth retail store, including customer service, merchandising and staff supervision. All retail store employees working in the Dartmouth location will report to you as the retail store manager. As the retail store manager you will report to the general manager.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the retail store manager include, but are not limited to:
Executing on marketing and sales initiatives, including achieving financial objectives by reviewing merchandising activities, determining marketing strategy changes by reviewing departmental sales records and evaluating additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales and studying consumer and market trends.
Ensuring and securing availability of merchandise and maintaining inventories.
Effective planning of all aspects of the business by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
Identifying and implementing efficiencies and developing new business opportunities, such as class ideas and events, by Identifying customer requirements and establishing rapport with current and potential customers.
Scheduling and delegating tasks to appropriate staff and following up on work results.
Maintaining store staff by recruiting, hiring, orienting, and training employees.
Maintaining store staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, including termination of employment.
Protecting employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment, complying with legal requirements; maintaining the stability and reputation of the store.
Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, establishing personal and professional networks and participating in industries societies.
Providing hands-on logistical support of all aspects of the business contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Proactively soliciting feedback from customers and staff and reporting regularly to the general manager.
Retail Store Policies
The retail store is located at 114 Woodlawn Road, Dartmouth, NS. The store hours are 9-9 Monday to Friday, 9-6 on Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday. The work week consists of five (5) 8.5 hour shift with a 30 minute unpaid break and two 15 minute paid breaks each day.
As store manager you will be expected to dress appropriately and professionally when working.
Personal mobile phones and beverages are not permitted on the sales floor. Staff members have assigned lockers with lock where they can keep valuables and personal items.
Salary
Your salary will be based on experience and technical expertise. You will be eligible for wage increases upon completion of a six (6) month probationary period and satisfactory bi-annual performance reviews.
