Permanent, Full-time, Non-seasonal, minimum of 40 hours per week

Wage/Salary:

$100,000 – $140,000 per year based on experience

Location of Work:

Based out of Calgary but required to travel to projects across Western Canada as needed

Job requirements:

Education:

Certified Heavy Equipment Technician, or have a University Degree or a college diploma in a relevant discipline

Work experience/skills:

At least five (5) years of experience in working for a full-service heavy civil and industrial general contractor company in equipment/fleet supervisory roles,
five (5) years of relevant experience in managing equipment & personnel on multi-million-dollar large-scale construction projects
Experience in fleet management/maintenance an asset
Computer proficiency in Microsoft, ECMS, CAT software
Fluent in English (oral and written)
Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
Strong Time Management skills
Strong leadership and supervisory skills
Valid Class 5 Drivers license

Job Duties:

The primary role of the Regional Equipment Manager is responsible for the purchase, sale and maintenance of all construction equipment, vehicles, tools and supplies owned and used by Ames in its operations.

Detailed job duties include but not limited to:

Set up, operate and maintain central shops(s)
Establish maintenance and maintenance personnel policies and procedures
In consultation, determine type(s), manufacturer(s) and size(s) of equipment to purchase or rent
Set up systems for inventory, maintenance, controls, etc.
Establish and implement maintenance and service programs for the region
Establish and maintain inventories for shops
Prepare/approve requisitions for all equipment, material and consumables
Establish list of acceptable vendors/suppliers
Negotiate purchases of equipment, rentals, materials and supplies with vendors
In conjunction with the Construction Manager, establish equipment schedules for all jobs
Manage equipment staffing and personnel issues

The Regional Equipment Manager may be responsible for other duties assigned and consistent with the role. The duties and responsibilities of the Regional Equipment Manager may be adjusted to meet specific corporate requirements.
