The City of Penticton is in search of creative, energetic applicants for a permanent full time Recreation Coordinator position. Alongside the enthusiastic team at Penticton’s Community Centre, the Recreation Coordinator will deliver innovative and exciting recreation services and programming to the citizens of Penticton. With direction from the Recreation and Culture Manager, this individual will be responsible for adult programs, fitness classes, skating lessons, outdoor recreation, volunteer coordination as well as fitness facility supervision.

The successful applicant will have completed Secondary School education and have a minimum of a diploma or degree in Recreation/Leisure Services or a related field. Applicants should have a minimum of four years working experience in at least one Recreation Specialty. Familiarity with public relations and/or business administration is preferred. Exemplary interpersonal and organizational skills will be required of the successful applicant. Proficiency in computer software, including CLASS (or similar recreation software) and Microsoft Office, is required. This individual will be capable of working independently with the ability to also make valuable contributions in a team environment. Those wishing to obtain this role must be in possession of a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with the ability to maintain it.
The hourly rate for this position is $27.23-$30.26 per hour (Pay Grade 080). The City of Penticton offers a competitive total compensation package including pension and comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
