The District of Mackenzie is seeking an experienced professional to manage our Recreation Services Department. This position is responsible for the management and operation of a multi-purpose community recreation facility and the delivery of public recreation services for the District of Mackenzie.
Located in the scenic Northern Rocky Mountain Trench 185 km north of Prince George, Mackenzie offers superb four season outdoor recreation opportunities and an exceptional quality of life. Residents are involved in community life with numerous service organizations, community clubs and groups, catering to a variety of interests. The Mackenzie Recreation Centre, with arena, swimming pool, fitness centre and library is viewed as the hub of the community. Preference will be given to those candidates that have the education and a proven background in the field of recreation management. The preferred applicant will be politically astute, have a comprehensive knowledge of recreation business management, have proven leadership abilities with an emphasis on effective communication, will have demonstrated ability to develop and execute operation plans and have a proven track record of building strong teams. This position requires dynamic leadership and excellent customer service and problem-solving skills in a unionized environment.
