Project Worker, CultureLink Bike Hub – Bike Hub – Ontario

Responsibilities
Lead operations at the Bike Hub, as part of a team
Train and schedule volunteers in bicycle repair and maintenance and foster a practice of reuse and recycling
Lead safety check clinics and workshops, including on evenings and weekends
Lead Do-It-Yourself repair clinics
Purchase equipment and supplies within an established budget
Implement health and safety procedures
Prepare weekly reports
Provide insightful and constructive input for program development
Collaborate with team members and other CultureLink teams
Participate in agency staff meetings
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
A proven track record in designing, implementing and evaluating creative programs that address the needs of a target population
Intermediate to advanced skills and experience in bicycle maintenance
Ability to work evenings and weekends
Skills and experience cycling in traffic
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and social media tools
Post-secondary education in social/ human services or a related field or combination of equivalent education and experience;
A minimum of 2 years’ community work experience with newcomer/racialized youth and adults
Knowledge and experience working within an Anti-Oppressive framework and understanding of anti-racism and anti-discrimination practice
Excellent cross-cultural communication
Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (police check).
Assets

Experience with teaching road safety, cycling skills and bicycle mechanics
Track record of engagement with Toronto’s cycling community
Strong familiarity with neighbourhoods in northwest Toronto (Black Creek, North Etobicoke)
CAN-BIKE training; First aid training; Food safety training
This position is remunerated at $25.97 – $27.55 per hour. The deadline for external applicants is Monday June 24, 2019 at 5pm. Interviews will be scheduled on Tuesday June 25 and/or Wednesday June 26, 2019.
