We are seeking a highly organized and passionate individual to join our established hospitality/development corporation as a Project Coordinator. Specifically, we are in search of an ambitious, self-motivated person to inspire and help grow, develop and promote our real estate properties located in Downtown Vancouver and Vancouver Island, BC. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is a multi-tasker and able to simultaneously coordinate multiple projects. It is anticipated that the selected candidate will be responsible for delivering at least five building development projects of varying size and complexity.
This role is primarily based in the office headquarters in Downtown Vancouver but occasional travel to project sites may be required.
Responsibilities Include:
Securing all provincial and municipal operating permits and licenses required for the construction and initiation of proposed operations;
Managing and calculating all project costs including comprehensive ‘soft-cost’ budgets;
Overseeing construction to ensure ‘milestones’ are achieved on time and budget;
Overseeing development of tenant’s improvements to ensure completion on time and budget;
Managing project files (both electronic and hardcopy) including but not limited to contracts, licenses and permits applications, construction plans, etc.;
Tracking projects’ progress and providing regular status reports to the President and staff; and
Identifying issues and risks of project-associated activities and developing appropriate management strategies.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of two years of relevant industry experience, preferably in project development;
Degree, diploma or certificate in Project Management or related field preferred. Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of education;
Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively;
Enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and handle multiple assignments simultaneously with efficiency and accuracy;
Well-developed time management skills with a logical approach to work: highly organized, efficient, and detail-oriented; and
Excellent verbal and written professional communication skills in English.
