The Regional District of Kitimat – Stikine is seeking an individual to fill the position of Project and Program Coordinator.
Located in Terrace, BC, this area is known for its world class fishing and outdoor adventure opportunities in a pristine setting. This area offers quality advanced education opportunities with both the Northwest Community College and a satellite campus for the University of Northern BC. This area also has a well-developed Arts and Cultural Community, Recreation Facilities and Library.
Reporting to the Manager Works and Services, the Project Coordinator is mainly responsible to assist with the planning and execution of Environmental Services Projects and Programs. The successful candidate will be required to communicate and liaise with Project and Program stakeholders including the public, community groups, business owners, First Nations representatives, regulatory agencies and the Regional District Board.
The ideal candidate will possess the following education and competencies:
Post secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Studies, Planning and/or Project Management.
Proficiency with MS Office and project management software such as MS Project.
A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
Experience in developing and executing project work plans and tasks such as schedules, budgets and communications strategies.
A background in communications with the ability to prepare written reports including recommendations to the Regional District.
Adaptable to changing work environments and tasks.
