Program Manager – Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation – Ontario

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Program Manager plays a leadership role on the Grants and Program team and reports to the Foundation’s Program Director. The Program Manager will oversee the Foundation’s grant program, manage key projects and significantly contribute to the achieving the Foundation’s communications and outreach/ partnership goals.
The role is for an individual committed to creating a sustainable, healthy and prosperous region in the country’s most populated area, and has experience in strategic planning and partnership development.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Grants and Program team to advance the Foundation’s strategic goals and objectives
Support the Program Director in developing and managing projects in core programmatic areas that could include climate adaptation and mitigation, regional growth and livability and the rural economy including agriculture, tourism and recreation
Execute and oversee the grant funding program with the support of the Grant Officer and Coordinator
Identify and engage new stakeholders and organization’s whose voices and missions are critical to achieving our goals and build relationships, partnerships and potential grant projects
Provide support to funded projects and partnerships as agreed to and as necessary to ensure successful outcomes
Oversee achievement of the Foundation’s communication objectives in relation to Grants and Program contributions
Provide leadership and support to additional Foundation priorities including outreach, government relations and fundraising goals

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of professional certificate and experience.
Experience in project design and delivery.
Good communication skills, both written, and oral.
Strong organizational skills, strategy development and problem solving skills.
Experience in collaborations, partnership development and stakeholder management.
Effective information management.
High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.
Responsible, detail oriented, and team player.
Keen interest and understanding of environmental, agricultural, and/or economic development issues.
Experience in working for a non-profit organization desirable.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: The position will be based at our Toronto office (downtown) in a typical office setting. Salary range is commensurate with experience and includes vacation and health benefits.
