GreenTech Exchange (GTEx) is a pathfinder organization engaging solution providers with industries and investors. Launched in March 2009, GTEx aims to advance knowledge, ideas, people, products, services and solutions for the green economy. We have delivered over 100 educational forums and networking events in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island to thousands of participants. The forums and events, with timely topics and insightful speakers, engage and enable people in the community to discover their passions, cultivate interests, connect with one another, exchange ideas, collaborate on projects, and to build and grow businesses in the green innovation and clean technology space. GTEx participants span several groups including: business, entrepreneur & SME, industry, investment, service provider, government & agency, as well as academia.
Position Details
GTEx is growing and developing fresh initiatives. We are looking for a part-time Program Coordinator to oversee the administration of GTEx Forums and programs.
This is a part-time, flexible position (up to 25 hours per week), to start immediately. The Program Coordinator is expected to attend and manage monthly forums one evening per month. Work location is downtown Vancouver. Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate content and logistics for monthly forums and special events
Maintain online membership, contact database, website and social media accounts
Prepare and distribute marketing and communications materials
Market and advertise GTEx Forums and programs
Organize monthly industry focal group gathering
Maintain and build relationships with organizational partners
Outreach to new and existing sponsors
Network at GTEx events and other events to promote programs
Develop programming and services as per Strategic Plan alongside the Managing Director
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Business, Communications, Environmental Studies or related discipline
Previous experience in event planning, marketing, communications, website maintenance, public relations, public speaking, volunteer management, and administrative work
Knowledge of social media, MS Office suite, Adobe suite, and basic HTML (preferred)
Agile, proactive, and comfortable working with ambiguous specifications and multitasking
Outgoing, personable, organized and detail-oriented
Passionate about green economies, clean energy and sustainability
Other assets include web and graphic design, public speaking, and fluency in multiple languages
