Island Recruiting is currently searching for an experienced Production Manager, for an opportunity in Mississauga, Ontario. The Production Manager must be a results focused leader, with a passion to create, measure, and achieve company objectives. The successful candidate will be focused on improving all areas of the manufacturing process and managing the skills of the production team. Above all this individual generates results.

Job Summary:
The Production Manager will manage, plan, and supervise all production activities and is responsible for improving the facility’s performance in cost reductions, inventory turns, overhead utilization, production efficiency, and quality performance.

Responsibilities:

• Enable production staff to establish and meet operational goals.
• Design and ensure established procedures are in compliance with company policies.
• Responsible for the management and coordination of pre-weld, weld, and post-weld.
• Responsible for maintaining the preventative maintenance program.
• Accomplish manufacturing results by effectively managing and supervising staff and turnover.
• Maintain work flow by monitoring the process, facilitating improvements, and initiating a spirit of cooperation within and between the manufacturing elements.
• Develop a production plan and communicate effectively the process, goals, and outcomes of the plan to team members.
• Maintain quality service by upholding high quality standards and following the quality system requirements.
• Ensure operation of all equipment and machines by managing the preventive maintenance program and overseeing all repairs and updates.
• Provide manufacturing information by analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
• Create and revise procedures by analyzing operating practices, recordkeeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data and recommend actions to corporate management.
• Maintain professional knowledge by attending education seminars and workshops.
• Document, remove, and dispose of rejected material.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• 10 years of manufacturing management experience.
• Aerospace and cell production experience is an asset.
• Welding, bending, or machining experience is an asset.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills.
• Ability to analyze problems, delegate, and collaborate within a team environment.
• Lean manufacturing experience, 5S experience, Six Sigma is beneficial.
• Computer skills in JOB Boss, Microsoft, and Cad Software.
• Strong knowledge of planning (MRP) and scheduling.
• Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with employees.
