Procurement Co-ordinator – Mount Allison University – Sackville, New Brunswick

We invite applications for the position of procurement co-ordinator in the Financial Services Office. This is a full-time continuing position.

Reporting to the manager, procurement services, the incumbent is responsible for processing all purchase order requisitions as either purchase orders or blanket purchase orders in accordance with University policy and provincial procurement laws. This position makes purchasing decisions of a routine nature and performs research regarding special projects for the manager, procurement services. The incumbent maintains contact with suppliers, customs brokers, freight carriers, and end users and deals with any issues concerning ordering and delivery of goods or services.

The successful candidate will have completed a two-year community college business program with two to three years’ experience or equivalent education and work experience in a related position. The incumbent must be willing and capable of successfully completing the Purchasing Management Association of Canada Certificate in Purchasing or an appropriate public procurement certificate within seven to eight years of employment. Strong written and oral communication, proven excellence in customer service, and problem solving skills are essential. Experience with customs processes and documentation is an asset. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software is required; experience with database or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is an asset.
