Applications are invited for Parks Worker for Temporary Full-Time and Casual assignments in the Parks Operations Division of the Engineering, Parks and Environment Department.
Parks Workers perform a variety of manual duties in the maintenance of floral areas, turf, sports fields, playgrounds and related areas and with the cleanliness, maintenance and minor repairs of park buildings and washrooms.
RATE OF PAY: $27.13 per hour (2015 C.U.P.E. rate)
HOURS OF WORK: Up to 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Temporary Full-Time employees are paid 6% of their regular earnings in lieu of paid vacation and become eligible for benefits after 6 months of continuous employment. Casual employees are paid 12% of their regular earnings in lieu of benefits and paid vacation.
The successful candidates will have Grade 12 plus experience in general construction and maintenance of parks and other landscape work. B.C. Parks industry related training is desirable. A valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License is required (maximum 6 points). Successful candidates will be required to undergo a criminal record check before commencing employment.
