NAACAP is a regional non-profit, community-based environmental organization dedicated to working towards healthy watersheds and coastal environments in the Northeast Avalon region. We are seeking an energetic coordinator to assist in NAACAP’s day-to-day operations. The successful candidate will report to, receive direction from, and facilitate the decision-making of a volunteer Board of Directors. The Coordinator will play a pivotal role in carrying out NAACAP’s current project commitments as well as planning and preparing project proposals.

Primary duties are as follows:

Implement NAACAP’s public engagement and outreach activities, including liaising with project partners and community members (governmental, private industry, and other non-governmental, non-profit groups)
Content management of online social media accounts and the NAACAP website
Development and implementation of fundraising initiatives including annual campaigns and special events
All aspects of project management including writing funding proposals, making and carrying out work plans, and final reporting
Implementing projects and associated communications plans in keeping with Board and/or Committee direction
Maintaining financial, administrative and reporting systems

Qualifications desired:

University Degree in related area (i.e. Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Biology, Environmental Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference given to Business Administration graduates with specialization in marketing or public relations
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Preference given to candidates with working knowledge of Simply Accounting and WordPress
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong research and facilitation skills

1-3 Years’ Experience

Event planning and delivering workshops or similar public events
Grant applications and report writing
Working with volunteers, non-profit groups and ability to work both alone and as part of a team
