Gentle Earth Products Ltd is looking for a Manager to transition Gentle Earth to the next level in the Canadian marketplace. We acquired Vancouver Island’s largest Soap Company, Island Essentials, and are looking to hire a Manager for our new manufacturing plant & office space located at the Pioneer Square in Millbay. We specialize in providing Local BC products that are environmentally friendly to customers through online sales, retail locations and commercial businesses. We require a flexible individual to support the growth of the company and to help make our vision a reality.
Job Description:
Process sales orders by phone and internet, package and ship orders to customers
Evaluate current product line for improvements and if products make sense to be brought ‘in house’ for manufacturing.
Quality control
Database marketing through Constant Contact.
Generate new business leads – including sourcing leads, preparation of sales/marketing strategies, work with President and other independent sales agents to gain new clientele.
Maintain product inventory and supervise production person to ensure good product flow to maintain client purchases.
Represent and build the brand in a professional manner
Maintain product inventory levels, receive stock, place orders with suppliers
Research, source & test new products and do price comparisons with competing products. Work with owner on all aspects of bringing new products to market.
General skills required in running a small business, past management experience considered a strong asset.
Skills & Experience:
Work well independently with limited supervision
Experience in small business environment preferred
Computer skills necessary (Outlook, Word, Excel, Internet, Websites, CRM)
Professional manner – telephone & in person *French speaking/writing an asset
Sales experience preferred
Passion for healthy living and “green” products
Take initiative, strong work ethic
Self motivated with a drive to succeed
Creativity, tech savvy and sense of humor considered an asset
Has experience in the natural product industry and manufacturing of natural products preferred
Product formulation/industry experience or herbalism an asset

Depending on skillsets and if you qualify for the BC wage subsidy training program (unemployed)
Monday – Friday is our office hours and position is a part time to full time position.
$12-15 an hour plus profit sharing insentive for the right management candidate that grows the business. Renumeration through commissions online affiliate marketing if desired.
3 month probationary period for successful candidate.
