We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager for a position based in Calgary.

This key senior management role would be primarily responsible for oversight of all of projects, HSE, QA/QC and the recruitment, hiring and management of management and craft personnel. Additionally responsibilities include sales & business development, labour relations, and overhead and field business management.

Support Global Construction & Fabrication strategic initiatives aimed at growing construction capabilities, market share and revenue. This includes participation in the development of business strategy and business positioning in relation to field construction, and strategic joint ventures.

Basic Job Requirements

Minimum of 10 – 15 years serving as a Construction or Operations Manager in the Heavy Industrial Construction industry in multiple execution models under varying contractual terms (Lump sum, T&M, cost reimbursable, etc). Responsibilities included management of profit and loss, reporting, forecasting and budgeting for Construction Operations
Successful experience in business strategy development and sales of Construction Services
Successful achievements in Leadership roles directing Construction Operations and executing large-scale projects, shutdowns, turnarounds and maintenance contracts utilizing a Building Trades Craft workforce.
Statistical evidence of 10 plus years in a management position with direct responsibility for safety leadership
Proven track record of successfully completing construction projects (safety, cost and schedule) Quantitative experience in direction of activities including construction estimating, controls, constructability, turnaround level workface planning, productivity enhancements, HSE & Quality performance management
10 plus years of relevant experience with claims management, contracting and subcontracting strategies and management
Bachelors degree in engineering or Technical Diploma would be an asset
