Mission
The organization is currently seeking an Operations Manager in a full-time, contract position. Under the supervision of a volunteer Board of Directors, the Operations Manager will ensure the smooth operation of La Bikery’s programs and services, to fill the responsibilities outlined below and report regularly to the Board of Directors. The selected candidate’s values should resonate with the organization’s mission and vision.
Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the management and daily operations of our shop and workshop space for DIY bicycle repair and maintenance, as well as oversight into many satellite programs that engage with partners and stakeholders throughout the Greater Moncton area. The responsibilities include:
Hiring, training, scheduling, and managing a small team of seasonal staff and volunteers
Managing parts and merchandise displays, tracking inventory, and placing orders from suppliers as needed
Ensuring general shop maintenance, upkeep, and presentation
Managing La Bikery’s core programs and services such as Recycle-a-Bike, a bike rental fleet, and bike locker rents
Working with the Board of Directors to establish program goals and deliverables, and execute these deliverables with staff and volunteers
Coordinating events and programming, such as group rides, workshops, collaborative events with partners, etc.
Coordinating with established partners to ensure that partnership terms are delivered, such as bike locker availability, staff workshops, group-volunteer opportunities, etc.
Ensuring social media and communications are up to date
Acting as a main point of contact for inquiries on services La Bikery provides (could include talking with community partners, local businesses, and responding to media inquiries)
Regularly communicating with membership and volunteers through newsletters and
General administration including tracking goals and targets, and HR administration
Reporting to the Board at monthly meetings and as required.
Experience/Qualifications

Adaptive and innovative thinker
Outgoing, friendly, highly-organized person with interpersonal communication, coordination, and supervisory skills
Previous work or volunteer experience in community-based organizations
Able to work collaboratively with Board of Directors and volunteer members
Comfortable speaking publicly to educate people on the services that La Bikery provides (such as at community events, to the media, to community partners
Interest in DIY, skill-sharing, and community building
Interest in bicycle mechanics and a general knowledge of bicycle parts and tools is an asset
Bilingualism is a priority
Compensation
One-year contract position. Compensation varies based on qualifications; salary range is $47000-52000.
