Marketing & Communications Manager – Forests Ontario

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the COO, the Marketing and Communications Manager:
Provides leadership and oversees the development and implementation of an overarching strategic marketing, communications and media relations plan, which includes: compelling communications, media relations tools, marketing materials, quarterly magazine, newsletter and online social media vehicles among Forests Ontario’s various audiences, including the Board of Trustees, partners, media, landowners, relevant funders and potential donors, sponsors and the public at large.
Assists the Director of Business Development with partnerships and revenue generation materials to assist the organization secure appropriate short-term and long-term funding from governments, individuals and corporations.
Oversees corporate graphic standards and helping to further develop and sustain the organization’s brand and awareness with its target audiences.
Works closely with the CEO, COO and other staff managing the work of the communications staff and supports the communication needs of all Forests Ontario departments.

Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant communications, marketing, media relations, fundraising, and online/social media work experience with a company, association or foundation.
Experience in both document and web-based marketing, digital and online communications and engagement.
A relevant communications / marketing / media relations / advancement degree or diploma, and related experience.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including writing, editing, storytelling, and design skills, with attention to detail.
Working knowledge with marketing/audience segmentation, SEO, Google and data analytics and campaign KPIs and ROIs.
Familiarity with B2B and B2C advertising campaigns from a not-for-profit perspective
Experience working with and managing staff, volunteers and consultants.
Excellent leadership, judgment and decision-making abilities, including strong presentation, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and to a deadline.
An understanding of the environment and forestry and a demonstrated commitment to a healthy environment is a definite asset.
WORK LOCATION: Main office is 15 Maple Avenue, Unit 3 Barrie, Ontario. However, arrangements for working from home may be available.
JOB TYPE & DURATION: Full-time
WORK HOURS: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
SALARY: Based on years of relevant experience and qualifications.
