Marketing Assistant – FarmFolk CityFolk

Position Summary
Reporting to the Engagement Manager, FFCF is seeking to hire two Marketing Assistants. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and responsive, proactive problem solver, and a team player. The Marketing Assistants will work directly with experienced managers on a variety of projects over the course of the Summer. The Marketing Assistants are actively involved in creating and editing content for the web and social media posts, and writing content for our monthly newsletters. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with website management and content creation. This role will also provide logistical and event support for our Feast of Fields events.

Responsibilities and Duties
Working with our Engagement Manager, the Marketing Assistant role may include, but is not limited to:
responsible for editing and updating existing content on our two main websites (farmfolkcityfolk.ca and feastoffields.com)
post new content to our Feast of Fields website during the event season
create social media mentions for our Feast of Fields participants
select and post images to the webpages, and refresh our websites with current images
curate and archive photos from our events.
research and update media lists to include calendars of events, blogger and influencers
take physical inventory of signage to determine needs and update spreadsheets.
other general office support tasks, with the opportunity to gear tasks to the applicants interests

Hiring Requirements
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent grasp of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Interest and experience with Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is an asset
Ability to work with GSuite
Previous experience with WordPress, Hootsuite, and image editing software is a plus.
To be eligible, youth must:
be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment**; and,
have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

This is a subsidized Canada Summer Jobs position for a 16 week term. The role is 30 hours per week starting at a pay rate of $14.60/hr. The successful candidate must be between 15 and 30 years of age, and Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Please indicate this clearly in your cover letter.
Our office is on Granville Island in Vancouver. During the COVID-19 crisis, all FFCF are working from their home offices.
