Market Manager – Car Free Days Vancouver – Vancouver, BC

ABOUT THE ROLE
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with communications and applications with local authorities
Assist with or lead communications with other event partners and stakeholders, including coordinating on-site partner activations
Oversee spending and budgets, including seeking quotes, anticipating revenue and allocating honorariums
Oversee the vendor application process from reviewing and accepting applications, updating and providing vendor information packages and arranging vendor health checks
Site and vendor mapping and day-of management
Coordinate market entertainment including seeking programmers and equipment as needed
Coordinate rental needs, logistics, management, safety and other related tasks
Anticipate volunteer needs and communicate with Volunteer Coordinator
Modify and implement health and safety protocols as needed
Oversees recruitment, intake, vetting, prizes, and volunteer coordination.
Attend all pre-festival planning meetings and other meetings.
Conduct all site planning meetings.
Report to and communicate with the Festival Operations.
Provide oversight to festival contractors.
Ensure traffic safety plans are implemented.
Providing safety protocols to volunteers, vendors, entertainers, staff and attendees.
Assistance with creation/direction of festival programming.
Assistance with allocation of festival funding and budget creation.
Primary person responsible for adherence to festival budget.
Assistance with festival-specific sponsorship or grant applications, as needed.
Additional duties to those described above by mutual agreement between the parties.

QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
Ability to take initiative on a variety of tasks
Experience with site management and/or vendor management an asset
Proficiency in Google Suite
A self starter, able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Great verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Experience coordinating large, public events
Ability to meet deadlines, adjust quickly to changes in priorities, and work within a team environment to achieve results
Strong delegation skills
You are curious. You always seek to understand and ask questions.

REQUIREMENTS
Regular access to internet
Must be on site for full event day on Saturday, August 20th / Saturday, August 27th / Saturday, September 10th
Some weekday availability is an asset
RATE AND TERM
$22/hour for up to 50 hours, with the option to extend if needed.
Position starts immediately until approx September 30th, 2021.
