Market and Community Food Assistant — Canada Summer – Greenest City Environmental Organization – Toronto

Responsibilities to:
Facilitate and coordinate the Parkdale Good Food Market on Thursdays afternoons.
Coordinate partners and vendors weekly.
Order produce weekly with support from Greenest City.
Work with volunteers weekly who will support the market.
Responsible for set up and clean up with support from team members.
Support team members on other days with workshops and programming.
Support all Greenest City events, as needed with set up, clean up, facilitation.
Document impact of market.
Work well with team members.
Administrative duties as required weekly.
Represent Greenest City and its mission in the community.
Occasional evenings and weekend availability may be required, but these will be scheduled in advance.

Qualifications
Well-organized.
Able to lift heavy items such as tables and tents.
Skills in working in diverse environments.
Skills in working with community volunteers and partners.
Worked with community-based food initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and self manage.
Strong desire to learn.
Competency in Google drive/docs, spreadsheets and basic internet technologies.
Commitment and desire to work in a diverse environment where diversity based on race, ethnic origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, physical ability, family status and other characteristics is an important and practiced value.

Second language an asset.
Local to Parkdale an asset.

Hours and Compensation: 30hrs for a total of 433hrs at $14/hr
