About the Brickyard Grounds:
We are a thirty seat licenced local neighbourhood Café Bistro, and the heart of Bricktown. We are a positive presence in our community. With a wide range of offerings, we have something for everyone from an amazing peameal breakfast sandwich to gourmet sandwiches at lunch and even rotisserie chicken in the evening. We also create vegetarian & plant-based dishes. We do espresso, craft beer and signature dishes that are sourced locally. Our scratch made weekend brunch has become a staple in the neighbourhood. It’s a fun atmosphere where we provide our guests a great experience that’s welcoming and engaging. We are looking for an individual to lead and grow the team.
About You:
You are a positive and constructive leader of the team. You are all about offering quality products, delivered consistently. You are able to work as a hands on employee, understanding all areas of the bistro. You are thriving in an environment where a positive guest experience is at the forefront. You are able to sell the menu items and teach others to do the same. You have a passion for coffee, and great comfort food. You will be able to perform all duties within the Brickyard Grounds, at an exceptional level. You will be leading by example and fostering a positive environment for all staff and guests.
Responsibilities (not limited to):
Developing and leading a cohesive team in a fast-paced environment with a positive and upbeat demeanor
Introducing and maintaining cost control measures in all areas
Maintain professionalism, even under pressure
Ensuring top quality, consistent food and drink creation is delivered by all staff
Create Weekly Staffing & Cleaning Schedules; Checklists; Opening and Closing duties
Recognize and resolve potential issues quickly, and holds employees to account
Reviewing and posting social media content
Handling the POS System, cash-outs and deposits
Maintaining base levels of inventory for coffee and food
Ensuring maintenance and cleanliness of bistro
Maintaining employee logs and documentation. Hiring, training and leading staff. Reporting directly to owners.
Uphold health and safety practices
Candidates must be available on weekends, in addition to days/nights during the week
Must Haves:
Experience leading a team with positive results.
Experience with table service.
Experience setting the grind to dial in the espresso for proper extraction.
Understanding milk steaming, with ability to pour latte art.
Using a semi-automatic espresso machine.
Lift up to 50 pounds.
Smart-Serve and Food Handlers Certified.
Wages commensurate with experience. Open Tues to Fri 8am to 8pm and Sat & Sun 8am to 4pm.
