The Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) manages and operates the Victoria International Airport, which is the 10th busiest airport in Canada and the gateway to Vancouver Island.
The VAA is recruiting for an enthusiastic and experienced leader to join our management team.
Reporting to the Director Operations & Safety, the Manager Safety & Emergency Services is accountable for managing the operations of the Airport Fire hall, Emergency Response Program, the Safety Management Program, and ensuring VAA compliance with environmental and aviation regulations.
Required Education & Experience includes:
Post-secondary education in Aviation Management, Safety Management, Emergency Management or related studies. A degree is preferred.
A minimum of five years’ supervisory experience within a unionized environment.
Experience managing multiple projects, programs and systems.
An advanced level of organizational, oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of common software applications and the ability to compile, analyze and present statistical information to internal and external stakeholders.
Experience with strategic planning, policy development and managing budgets.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Experience in an airport operating environment would be a great asset.
