KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Manager of Parks and Facilities is responsible for the planning and management of the City’s parks operations, aquatic centre, two ice arenas, cemeteries, and all City-owned facilities.
The Manager is responsible for department policy recommendations, asset management, service level development and resource strategies. The Manager will be accountable for budget management, financial control and performance measurement. The interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with various external agencies, local community and sport organizations and associations is an asset.
The ideal candidate will be a proven leader, with senior management experience in the public sector; a lifelong learner and have supplemented your formal post-secondary education with ongoing professional development.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
The successful candidate will have a university degree or post-secondary education in facilities management and/or recreation services or a related field with 5 years or more experience in municipal government. RSA Certification or 5th Class Power Engineer will be considered an asset.
