The Regional District of Kootenay Boundary (RDKB) invites qualified applicants to apply for the Manager of Emergency Programs full time (exempt) position within the RDKB in Trail, BC.
DUTIES: The Manager of Emergency Programs is responsible for the overall management of the RDKB’s Emergency Program and is designated as the Emergency Program Coordinator for the Regional District. The position is responsible for all aspects of preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation including development and implementation of programs that improve the Regional District’s ability to respond to emergencies. This position is responsible for working with staff from both the RDKB as well as the member municipalities to develop, train and maintain an effective Emergency Operations Centre Staff Team. This position also provides administrative assistance and support to the RDKB’s volunteer fire services ensuring that they are able to perform their duties in an effective, efficient and responsible manner while meeting any and all regulatory requirements.

SALARY: This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications.
WORK SITE LOCATION: RDKB Administration Building, 843 Rossland Avenue, Trail, BC. The position requires travel throughout the RDKB for meetings, training and response as required. Applicants must have a valid class 5 driver’s license. The applicant will be asked to provide a criminal record check and a BC Driver’s License abstract.
HOURS OF WORK: The regular hours of work for this position are 35hrs per week during the summer months and 37.5 hours per week during the winter months. Flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays is a requirement of this position. The position is the single point of contact (on-call) for the RDKB emergency program with ability to work extended hours under stressful and emergency conditions as required.
