Job Description and Purpose
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Communications and Information Services is responsible for managing the external communications of RCBC and the effective coordination and delivery of the RCBC Recycling Hotline, Recyclepedia App, and stakeholder relations related to those services. Major areas of responsibility include staff supervision, project management, communications data analysis, and identifying opportunities to enhance and improve the range of services.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Manage an excellent team of Environmental Advisors to provide accurate province-wide information services related to waste prevention, recycling and reduction.
Ensure up-to-date waste reduction and pollution prevention information for BC and seek opportunities for growth in areas of repair and reuse.
Build and maintain successful relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure optimization of the information services (hotline, apps and database) and fulfill proper reporting procedures.
Provide leadership, expertise and support for communications activities across the organization using multiple channels and social media platforms.
Project management related to improving and maintaining communications and information infrastructure (website, database and apps) and organizing the annual RCBC conference.
Manage communications related to website, newsletters and social media.
Work closely with the RCBC Executive Director to set strategic and organizational goals.
Skills and Experience
5-10 years of professional experience managing communications and leading high performing teams
Project management experience: highly organized, detail-oriented and ability to multitask; must manage staff and multiple on-going projects with various timelines
Excellent written, oral and presentation skills for a variety of audiences including sponsors, general public, community groups and local government
Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve service and operational problems with a results-oriented approach to performance.
Ability to monitor, analyze and present statistical information
Excellent knowledge of standard office applications, CRMs, social media and performance tools. Working knowledge of MS Office, Dynamics 365 is an asset.
Knowledge of website, social media and app analytics tools and best practices
An awareness and understanding of provincial regulations, municipal and regional environmental policies related to EPR, recycling and waste would be an asset.
Working conditions
$65,000 annually salary
Extended Health Benefits
40 hours per week
Terms of Contract: Full Time One year contract
