We are seeking a skilled manager with outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills to oversee strategic communications and community engagement within the City.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, this position will play a significant role in helping achieve priorities in alignment with our strategic plan by having input into developing and supporting public outreach opportunities for Mayor, Council and all City departments. This role is responsible for providing input into the development and execution of a civic engagement program, writing and carrying out strategic communications plans, developing and maintaining a media relations program, and providing advice to and working in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of communication principles and practices, who possesses a transparent, team-oriented leadership style and a proven track record.

The successful candidate will have a university degree from a recognized university in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or other related field, as well as related experience in strategic level communications and community engagement, preferably in a municipal or public sector.
