The City of Leduc is now hiring for a permanent, full-time Manager, Geomatic Services, working out of our Operations Building.

Reporting to the Director, Communications and Information Services, you will manage and administer the City of Leduc Spatial Data Infrastructure, along with associated staff and budgets. Geomatic Services is a corporate asset which services a variety of functions across the organization. Therefore, you will be expected to build the relationships required to provide superior customer service in support of these functions and ensure the GIS systems ability to facilitate the required processes, decision making, and efficiencies. You will also be expected to have a broad knowledge of municipal services.

The Manager, Geomatic Services also fills the business analyst roll and acts as Chair of the City of Leduc Information Technology Governance Committee. This Committee provides strategic leadership for IT projects and processes, and prioritizes corporate IT initiatives.

The successful candidate will possess a University Degree in Geography, or University Degree supplemented with a GIS/Geomatics Diploma with 5 years of GIS experience showing progressive responsibility. A portion of these years should be at a supervisory/project management level. Business Analyst experience (or formal education) is also required. Must have extensive knowledge of GIS design and implementation principles (desktop, web and mobile), ESRI software applications and a working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Word and Excel. Experience with GPS units (both mapping and RTK) as well as Municipal Government experience would be considered an asset.
