About the Role
We are looking for a driven and dedicated manager to take the lead on developing and delivering quality educational programs.
The Manager, Education Programs is responsible for leading the development of new program curriculum as well as delivering educational programs and leading a team of education facilitators. Candidates who have experience working with youth, general knowledge of environmental challenges, and experience with curriculum development are preferred.
The Manager, Education Programs is expected to:
Work collaboratively with staff and program partners to develop and deliver education programs
Go above and beyond to create a positive learning environment and experience for students, teachers, facilitators and parents
Demonstrate personal leadership, integrity and professionalism
Train and oversee education facilitators
Assist program fundraising efforts including grant applications and reporting
Fulfill administrative functions required for program success
Lead the expansion of Destination Conservation across BC and Alberta
Oversee the development of EcoCooks School and EcoCooks Club programs
Help expand existing and future education programs throughout Canada
What we are looking for:
Previous experience developing and delivering education programs and youth engagement
Thorough understanding of key sustainability topics
Strong personal leadership skills and comfort taking on increasing responsibilities
Passion for driving positive change through exponential program growth
Strong communication skills to successfully engage students and interact with parents and other stakeholders
The ability to adapt quickly to changes in work with limited supervision
Collaborative approach to effectively contribute to a team-based work environment
Access to a vehicle for workshop materials preparation and program delivery
Previous experience leading a team preferred
Strong project management skills
Experience developing and delivering programs in both french and english is an asset
Experience in the not-for-profit industry preferred
