Title – Location Manager
Reports to – General Manager
J.A. Snow Funeral Home was established as Snow & Company Undertaker on Argyle Street in 1883, making it the oldest & largest funeral home in Halifax. Our history is intertwined with that of Halifax itself, having played important roles in the recovery effort and burials resulting from the sinking of the RMS Titanic in 1912 and the devastating Halifax Explosion of 1917. In the wake of the 1917 tragedy, Snow & Company conducted funeral services for the victims at a rate of 30 to 40 a day.
Over the past 125 years, Halifax has grown from a small city surrounding the harbour to a massive city covering the peninsula and surrounding mainland. To better serve the growing population, J.A. Snow Funeral Home opened its new, state-of-the-art location at 339 Lacewood Drive in the center of the rapidly growing areas of Bedford, Spryfield, Sackville, Fall River, Lakeside and Timberlea in April 2009.
Since 1883, the J.A. Snow Funeral Home has been committed to providing excellent service to every family. For more than 125 years, our commitment has remained unchanged and yet, our funeral home has always responded to the changing needs of the community.
