Licensing and Property Use Inspector – City of Penticton

The City of Penticton is in search of experienced, professional applicants for a permanent full time Licensing and Property Use Inspector position. This diverse, newly created position will be a unique opportunity to assist in addressing the community’s building and licensing as well as bylaw needs. Under the direction of the Building and Permitting Manager, the Licensing and Property Use Inspector will be involved in a variety compliance related initiatives. These challenges will include business and vacation rental licensing and zoning in addition to building code and bylaw related inspection and enforcement.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of a Building Official Level I Certification in addition to a Bylaw Officer I Certification. Applicants should have a minimum of a combined 5 years working experience in licensing, building inspections and/or bylaw enforcement. Exemplary conflict management, interpersonal and problem solving skills will be required of the successful applicant. Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office, is required. This individual will be fluent in an array of Provincial and Municipal Legislations and Policies. Those wishing to obtain this role must be in possession of a valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with the ability to maintain it.

The hourly rate for this position is $32.86-$36.51 per hour (Pay Grade 130). The City of Penticton offers a competitive total compensation package including pension and comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
